Our Story

Husband and wife team Mary Liz Curtin and Stephen Scannell opened Leon & Lulu in 2006, rehabbing the historic Ambassador Roller Rink and making it a destination for shoppers. The 15,000 square foot rink offers furniture, antiques, clothing, gifts, books, games and gourmet food in an eclectic and charming environment.

Leon & Lulu is serious about exceptional design, fabulous service and fun – but have a sense of humor about everything else. Stop in to shop, attend one of our many special events, or just to explore while enjoying a glass of wine.  There’s More Next-Door!

The Clawson Theatre marquee marks the facade, but what’s going on inside the revamped movie palace is so much more. Mary Liz and Stephen opened The Show in 2016 with its stock of Michigan products, vintage items, distinctive greeting cards and more home furnishings.

Three Cats Cafe was added later that year just inside the store’s street side entrance. Small plates and baked goods arrive on vintage china. The menu, based as much as possible on local products, changes daily.
